A Taste of Manchester – Discover Half Dozen Other Bakehouse

Tucked away just outside of Manchester City Centre at Redbank Court, Half Dozen Other invites you to experience the delight of freshly baked goods made with nothing but passion and the finest ingredients. Our journey began in 2017 when the creative minds behind Pot Kettle Black, Jon and Mark, teamed up with local baking virtuoso Mark Wegner to bring high-quality, artisanal baked goods right to your doorstep.

At Half Dozen Other, we believe that great baking starts with great ingredients. From luxurious Belgian chocolate to the finest cultured butter from Normandy and organic flour from Shipton Mill, we commit to using only the best. No shortcuts, no improvers, and absolutely no preservatives. Each pastry, bread, and treat are crafted with care, embodying our belief that the best things in life, like a perfect croissant or a slice of decadent cake, are worth taking time over.

The bakehouse menu…

Our menu boasts a variety of scrumptious offerings that cater to all tastes. Whether it’s the classic buttery croissant, the rich and spicy cinnamon bun, or our vegan-friendly pecan and chocolate chip brownie, each item is a testament to our dedication to quality and flavour. And let’s not forget our seasonal Danishes, which promise something new and exciting with each visit.

But it’s not just about what we serve; it’s about how we serve it. Three days a week, our bakehouse doors open wide, inviting you in not just to taste but to experience our craft. Follow the aroma of fresh coffee and warm, buttery pastries right off the oven and into your hands. Our pop-up shop at Unit 17 Red Bank, Cheetham Hill, is more than just a place to grab a bite—it’s a place to see baking in action and to feel part of our community.

Half Dozen Other isn’t just our bakery; it’s a destination. While we do warn you that seating is on the horizon but not currently available, this cosy nook is perfect for a quick, delicious take-away that will brighten your day.

For those who can’t get enough,

For anyone who can’t get enough, we also offer wholesale deliveries across Greater Manchester, ensuring that our breads and bakes can be enjoyed far and wide.

So, whether you’re a longtime local or a first-time visitor, make your way to Half Dozen Other. Witness the magic of baking done right and take a piece—or several—of that magic home with you. After all, we believe a piece of cake really can solve a lot of life’s little problems.
